Program Outline

Chemical Engineering and Technology involves transfer and conversion of substance and energy, their laws and their applications in process and equipments design, process control and operation, and process optimization.

Educational Objectives

The aim is to develop application-oriented engineers who can adapt to the development of the national economy, science technology and society, meet the requirements of high-quality engineering and technical personnel and the production practice demands in chemical engineering and technology, especially in the chemical engineering, refinement, energy, light industry and environmental protection. After graduation, the students have solid professional knowledge, strong engineering abilities, innovative consciousness, and good teamwork spirit, and enable to engage in production management, technology development, process and equipment design, technological innovation and operating management, etc in the field of chemical engineering and technology.

Learning Outcomes

Students will learn the basic theories of chemical engineering and technology as well as chemistry, master the professional theories of chemical engineering, chemical reaction engineering, chemical thermodynamics and separation engineering, etc. Also, students will be trained in chemical experiment, engineering practice, computer application and engineering design so as to get the ability required in process design, exploiting and developing new products.

Upon successful completion of the Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology, students will:

1. Master basic technical knowledge, skills and engineering methods of chemical engineering and technology.

2. Possess the ability to design chemical process and equipment and the ability to simulate and optimize the chemical process.

3. Possess preliminary abilities to design new process and equipments.

4. Possess the ability to communicate and strong capability of life-long learning.

5. Possess good morals and strong sense of responsibility.
