The School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineeringoffers 5 majors for undergraduates, including chemistry, applied chemistry,chemical engineering and pharmaceutical engineering, and 2 master programs,chemistry and chemical engineering. The total enrollment is around 2,400.
The faculty in the school are well recognized scholars intheir fields and they are passionate about sharing their knowledge throughteaching. The school has a total of 113 faculty members, including 22 fullprofessors, 46 associate professor. 79 of them have Ph.D. degrees, and 30 % ofthem have study or visiting abroad experiences. The faculty of the schoolconsists of one Taishan Scholar professor and professors with multiple awards,such as national outstanding teachers, Shandong provincial excellent teachersand outstanding middle aged or young experts of Shandong province.
The school has multiple provincial or national key disciplines,laboratories, teaching or scientific centers: polymer chemistry and physics ofShandong provincial key discipline, Shandong provincial key fine chemical laboratory,center of teaching labs as a model for Shandong provincial universities,national advanced chemical engineering laboratory and strategic center ofintellectual properties. The center of teaching labs are well equipped withworld advanced scientific instruments: gas chromatography, HPLC, FTIR spectrophotometer,UV-vis spectrophotometer, ICP atomic emission spectrophotometer, differentialthermal analysis instrument, fluorescence spectrophotometer, atomic absorptionspectrophotometer, elemental analysis instrument, ESEM, 400 MHz NMR, etc. Theschool is committed to the academic mission of excellence in teaching, offeringpersonalized learning experiences for students and already received manyprovincial teaching awards for our dedication.
The other academic mission of the school is scientificresearch and world academic exchange. Many international and national scholarsvisit our school to give seminars about their research. The research fields ofthe school are mainly on fine chemical engineering, industrial catalysis, new chemicalengineering technology, new materials fabrication, drug synthesis and collagen. In these years, the school has received morethan 20 grants from national natural science foundation and many provincialgrants for scientific research. The school has been recognized many times forscience and technology excellence by national or provincial government. Thefaculty in the school have published more than 600 scientific papers in world renownedjournals.
